Bonnie's challenge this week in Photo Art Friday was to play with a couple of her textures and create an abstract image. I decided to use some more of my 'pinhead kitty' shots from last weekend's shoot. I could see using this as some funky wrapping paper. :o)
I played around with a few other filters in Elements and came up with these additional versions. The first one reminds me of a chalk board.
Love that kitty head pin cushion. How fun is this! xox
ReplyDeleteThanks Corrine. When I first made it I thought it was just a fun, silly pin cushion. I never imagined it would become a runway model. LOL
DeleteWhat fun effects, Linda! So many ways to see the same things. I love it. Gotta play more with Photoshop. I forget all the millions of things that can be done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen. It really is fun just to play around and see what you can come up with in Photoshop.
DeleteLots of fun! I see the squares have impressed others as well... ;) I do like the wrapping paper version!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna. Yes, I was certainly inspired to play with those squares.
DeleteVery nice........you achieved some excellent textures along with the abstract quality! This was a bit different from what I usually do, so am loving seeing what you other girls have produced.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan. I know what you mean. I felt totally out of my element as I was creating this. It was certainly a challenge!
DeleteNeat, these are so cool. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It certainly was a challenge this week!
DeleteI saw these beautiful kitties on your earlier post and loved them! Adding the chalkboard theme is a fabulous idea and works really well. I have a soft spot for kitties and this one reminds me of one of my own little furry friends, with his wide eyes and toothy smile. Wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Morag. It seems to me I remember seeing a picture of your cat on your blog. If I remember correctly you have a black and white 'tuxedo' cat similar to ours.
DeleteI love the first one the best and the little pin head just jumps out at you ... very cool. Truly abstract (mine are not ... can't quite get myself there). These all look like you were having fun ... which is what this is all about, right?
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
Thanks Andrea. And yes, it is all about having fun. I did find this abstract concept a real challenge though.
DeleteAll then are nice.
ReplyDeleteThese are great!! I didn't go with the abstract...very challenging...but what a great job you did!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle. I hear you ...this was not my thing either...I found it very challenging.
DeleteSuper fun piece. Wow you did a great job with this challenge and the Pinhead cats are just plain fun and funky.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ida. I didn't think I'd ever get so much mileage from a silly pin cushion, but it does make a fun little model.
DeleteI like your idea of wrapping paper!! And I also like the one that is pixelated too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim. This abstract challenge is not my thing but I think it turned out alright.
DeleteYour combinations worked beautifully!! Well done

SueAnn
Thank you SueAnn!
Deletereally fun and so YOU!! I am always amazed and deLIGHTed to see how you play!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Currie!
DeleteOh, I love these!
ReplyDeleteI recognize your pin cushion!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's turned out to become quite the model!
DeleteThis is a fantastic result :) Splendid !!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Mariane.
DeleteJust adore your collage. You are excellent at doing abstracts. Of course, the old school teacher in me loves the chalkboard look...it really does look like a chalkboard. Wonderful examples. smiles: sharon
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. Abstracts really aren't my comfort zone so I'm glad this turned out. LOL
DeleteNow talk about color and shapes -- your design thrills me and gave me added ideas for a future project. You collage is enjoyable to look at.. I have never paid much attention to abstract art - and here I've join in the challenge with you and other ... and have learned a lot..Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Thank you. Abstract art isn't really my comfort zone either, but I like participating in Bonnie's photo art challenges so I just jumped in.
DeleteI like the result. And I think I understood how you made it.
ReplyDeleteBeing a newbee I like to learn from others. So thank you,
Have a nicce weekend.
