One of my goals this year is to learn more about photography and specifically about using my camera to it's full potential. My top priority was to get out of 'auto' on my DSLR camera (and stay out!), which so far is going well. I've also switched to shooting in 'raw' and I'm learning that it gives me a lot more wiggle room in Lightroom.
Today's photo collage is a study of point of view. The subject is an fun little assemblage piece that I created a few years back at my friend Sandra's Open Studio.
The collage itself was created, literally in minutes, using the Print module in Lightroom 4. If you've been considering it, you've got to go ahead and get Lightroom and then take Kim Klassen's Round Trip class. You won't regret it!
Linda, your fibre art is just stunning! I love the colors in this piece - it's bold and whimsical and just plain fun to look at :)
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the 2B challenge and great collage, too - I was given Lightroom 4 late last year, but have yet to use it. I would love to take Kim's Round Trip, but must wait till finances allow...
TFS :)
Thanks so much Kim. I had a lot of fun combining my art with the 2B photo shoot. You are going to love Lightroom!
DeleteJust beautiful!! You brave person shooting in 'RAW'....I haven't tried that yet but many people love it because of the flexibility in post-processing. This is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle. Yes, I keep reading so many things that say raw is the only way to go so I thought it was time to jump in. And it's wonderful. I really don't know why I hesitated so long!
DeleteMarvelous piece and great photos, will have to check this out. xox
ReplyDeleteThanks Corrine. And if by 'will have to check this out' you mean Lightroom, I'd say go for it. It's great!
DeleteLove your art Linda I have tried RAW but have gone back to jpg as I can't play with RAW on my iPad !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Viv. As for shooting raw, that's the beauty of Lightroom. It allows you to do your edits, etc. and then print to file in jpeg for use on your blog or where ever.
Deletelove the colours in this..great collage
ReplyDeleteThank you. These colours seem to be favourites of mine too. I tend to return to them frequently in my art.
DeleteHow fun and colorful is your art, so nicely displayed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara.
DeleteYou will enjoy the camera so much using Manual and Raw Rules.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. It's opened up so many more possibilities!
DeleteFabulous work! I am considering taking the Round Trip class as I was so impressed by Kim's tutorial for this assignment. The images you've chosen are beautiful and the collage is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzette. I can certainly recommend Round Trip. I just got Lightroom so it was perfect timing. I waited until the class started before I even opened the software and Kim's great instruction has made everything so easy.
DeleteYour wonderful work in LR is great fun - love the grouping! You are right about LR and taking Kim's Round Trip class - one of the best I have taken, and most helpful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverly. I was really lucky to get Lightroom for my birthday, which was right before the RT class started. I didn't even look at Lightroom, except to install it, until the class started so I had Kim walking me through every step as I started. Fantastic. I'm just finishing up the day 7 lessons. Only one more day of classes after that, but I'm feeling really comfortable with Lightroom and know that I'll continue to learn from Kim in Beyond Beyond throughout the year. She's such a great teacher!
DeleteYes, I agree Linda, I'm looking foward to this year and all the things we will learn from the great teacher, Kim. I now use LR as much as I do PSE when I am processing photos! I've had it since LR-1, using the basics. Now I click around and do all kinds of things. LOL
DeleteGorgeous work!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tammy.
DeleteYou have a flare for funky art. This one is really cool. Awesome colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ida. I do love those colours.
DeleteWhat a great piece of art. It's made for some lovely angles and I love your collage.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It did work as a fun model for this photo shoot.
DeleteYour art pieces are lovely and so is your photography. I share your goal of getting out of Auto and am loving the fun of shooting now.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie. There's a lot to learn, but it's becoming so much more fun now that I'm out of auto.
