Yesterday I was in the mood for some thread doodling so I used some of the marbled fabric that I had made back in December and made up a little patchwork bag (about 11" X 10.5"). I had fun doodling all over it with black thread, letting the design in the fabric inform my doodles.
I especially liked this little dragonfly that emerged. There are also some flowers, a leaf and a bunch of random doodles.
I'll drop the bag off today, a little surprise RAK (random act of kindness), and hopefully it will bring a smile to her day.
I hope you're having a great day too! :o)
It is very pretty. I am a new follower of your blog, I also browsed through some of your other work too. - Gaia
ReplyDeleteWelcome Gala. So thrilled to have you as a follower. Thanks and have a great day!
DeleteWhat a lovely gift, it's beautiful. It looks like it would be fun to make :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee. It's a very 'zen' sort of activity. Just like doodling in your notebook back in high school!
DeleteBeautiful! I do not sew so to see what others create is a treat to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby! I know what you mean. I often admire art in styles or media I don't work in myself and they are so inspirational.
DeleteThis is stunning. I LOVE it. You are making me want to leave work early and go home to create something beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jana. That sounds like a good idea. I'm sure your boss would understand!
DeleteVery nice as usual Linda. RAK is a great way to start the new year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leah. Yup...RAK makes me feel good and hopefully makes the other person feel good too!
Deletewow! Linda, the bag looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Deletelove this bag...looking closely at it trying to figure out how you made it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marsha. I just pieced a bunch of small pieces of my own marbled fabric, and then did different thread doodles within each section. Lots of fun to just play with thread doodling!
