I found this fellow just sitting on one of the deck chairs the other day. I guess his time was just up, but it was a great opportunity to really get a good look at that amazing head and the wonderfully intricate 'lacy' wings! I've always loved dragonflies...in part because they eat so many mosquitos!
they are a piece of art!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are so right! Nature's art at its best!
DeleteI, too love dragonflies, love your photos and really like the background you chose for the photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. Too bad it was dead and I was able to choose its background, but the deck railing provided a nice backdrop.
Deletegreat pictures
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret.
DeleteI also love dragonflies and once had the opportunity to touch one as it was landed on my laundry basket , I thought it might fly but it stayed there and let me touch it before taking flight , so cool and so beautiful !
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Sheila. I often have them visit me when I'm out kayaking, but they don't let me touch them...they land on my arm, but I'm not allowed to touch. :o)
Deleteamazing photos Linda. we couldn't have painted it better ourselves.
